[PRO] Comment effects: VTubeStudio integration

How to create a moving hit-detection area with comment effects (WordParty) using VTubeStudio integration

Using VTubeStudio integration, you can create a hit-detection area for drops that moves in sync with tracking.

Preparing VTubeStudio

Launch VTubeStudio and open its settings.

Find the "VTubeStudio Plugins" item around the middle of the settings.

Check "Start API (Allow Plugins)".

※ Make sure the port number is set to 8001

※ If it's different, quit whatever application is using port 8001 before launching VTubeStudio

Preparing OneComme

Configuring the integration

Open "top-right menu > Integrations".

Scroll the top tabs sideways to select "VTubeStudio", then check "Enable".

After that, verify that the port number matches the one shown in VTubeStudio.

Configuring WordParty

Open the WordParty editor from Templates.

After clicking the add button, select "Fixed Wall" as the effect.

Check "Tracking with VST".

Also check "Visualization" now, since you'll need it for position adjustment later.

With Visualization checked, the wall becomes visible once it's placed in OBS.

Adjusting the position

When you add the WordParty template to OBS, a visualized circle and origin point appear as shown below.

Example setup:

Adjusting sensitivity

With VTubeStudio running and tracking active, turn your head to the side and up to check how the circle moves.

If the circle moves more than the model does, set the value below 1, such as 0.8.
If the circle moves less than the model, set the value above 1, such as 1.2.

Adjusting the origin point

Since the reference position for angles differs between models, adjust the origin point.

Changing the origin point moves the red dot (generally, it's best to align it with the neck position).

Example setup:

Now, if you turn your head left and right, you'll see the circle rotate around the origin point.

Finally, uncheck "Visualization" under "Fixed Wall" and the setup is complete.

Tips

You can place multiple fixed walls.

For example, you can build a more complex hit-detection wall by adding a separate fixed wall for the ears.

You can also place a fixed wall with VST Tracking turned off to keep it stationary, so feel free to experiment.
